Neuwied sewage treatment plant, Rhineland-Palatinate (DE)
The Neuwied service companies in Rhineland-Palatinate win the "German Solar Prize 2023" with the foldable solar system from dhp technology. It is the first of its kind in Germany, making Neuwied a pioneer. "The lighthouse concept encourages the municipal implementation of renewable energies," was the jury's verdict.
- The system spans 1600 square metres above the sewage basin.
- The system can be retracted for maintenance work.
- Sensors automatically move the PV modules into the garage in the event of hail or other storms.
- 180,000 kWh per year. This increases the sewage treatment plant's own electricity production to around 25%.
