Vaz/Obervaz in Graubünden is ready for a clean energy future. The municipality, which has been awarded the Energy City label, has been proving this for some time by implementing a wide range of measures. One of these is the purchase of a folding solar roof for the sewage treatment plant. This means that – after Davos – the second high-alpine folding solar roof has gone into operation in Lenzerheide.
“As a municipality that lives from tourism, we strive to protect the environment and the landscape,” says Andreas Hartmann, Head of Energy and Projects. Therefore, the sustainable and careful use of resources is in the nature of things. In addition, as an energy town, Vaz/Obervaz is committed to a sustainable energy policy.

"We were looking for a solution to produce winter electricity without harming the landscape. The solar folding roof is ideal for this because it can span areas that are already in use."
