In the overall concept 2030 of the future planning, the wastewater plant Rietwiesen in Münsterlingen was expanded from 2017-2018. A new basin block for two biological and secondary treatment plants was created. The HORIZON folding solar roof was installed on these newly constructed basins. The 146 kWp solar power plant generates 134,000 kWh annually and covers an area of 1200 m2. It thus accounts for 23% of the total energy requirement of the wastewater plant in Münsterlingen.

For the first time, a metal façade was realised. It optically adapts to the other, newly constructed parts of the building of the wastewater plant and thus forms an aesthetic unit.

Operations manager Hanspeter Holzer adds: «We were convinced that with this foldable technology we have full access to our basins - for example also with a crane.»
